This tessellation is a compilation of a number of images I have developed over many years. It is based on a seaplane ride and snorkeling trip to the Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson which is 70 miles west of Key West in the Gulf of Mexico. It includes images of tortoises (1984), man-o-war jellyfish (2020), parrot fish and shells (1996 ish), fish and fan coral (2021),tortoises and sea turtles (2019), spotted rays (1989) and sea-turtles, sea-turtles and fish (2017), frogs and flying fish (2020), sailboats (2000), sharks (2020), seahorses and frogs (2018), chameleons (2020), flamingos (2021) and seaplanes (2021). The most memorable experience of that trip was hovering over a spotted leopard ray and gliding along within about 6 feet over the top of its wings. It allowed me to get that close. What a beautiful creature! I was also able to snorkel in a school of blue tangs that literally pulsated around me and flashed as I swam with them. Impossible to explain to someone that hasn't had the experience.
